Viva Las Vegas!

So this Memorial Day weekend we decided to head down to VEGAS! What a great idea, let me tell you I was really needing a vaca even though it was just a mini one. (Side note: I have had this crazy eye twitch thing going on for like 4 weeks and this trip totally cured the thing) We road tripped it down to Vegas on Friday morning with Shane and Ashlee. I really do love road trips music, trivia games, movies, laughing a lot, and reading. I have never read as many celebrity news magazines in my life as I did this weekend. If you need to know the who's who and the what's what in Hollywood right now I can most definitely inform you.
Once we were there we met up with Calogero's cousin Tony and his girlfriend Sandra from New York (I love those two it was so great to see them!). Congrats to them they got engaged this weekend. After our little reunion we did our first of many walks down the strip. Now what do you need for a walk down the strip in Las Vegas when it's 90 something degrees? Well a GIANT beverage of course and that is exactly what Calogero and Shane found themselves. I have never seen people look at a beverage with such awe and envy before. To Quote Calogero "What great conversation starters these beers are! So many girls have came up and started talking to us because of these, to bad they didn't have these like 5 years ago I would have been set". Funny Guy (sarcasm pure sarcasm)
After sweating for a few hours we decided to go check into our condo and get ready for dinner. I forgot to take any pics but we went to dinner at this really Mexican good restaurant at Caesars and then hit up the roller coaster at New York New York, it was so fun! I didn't even have a panic attack about going on it which is a success in my old age.

Saturday we pooled it all day I got a good tan and kicked some pool football butt! The Pool Super Bowl Champs of Vegas were (drum roll) Team Tony, Sandra, and Liz (me)! Not to toot my own horn but we did kind of smoke the competition. Is it just me or are games way more fun in the pool? (Again I totally forgot to take pool pics sorry) Ashlee and I had tickets to see Cirque Du Soleil's Mystere on Saturday night we were so freaking excited! And let me tell you it did not disappoint. Our seats were incredible 4th row from the stage. When the show started there was so much going on I didn't know where to look. People crawling on the walls, drums coming out of the ceiling, people hanging from the ceiling, dancers, people on stilts, and that was just the first 5 minutes. I think my mouth hung open in awe for most of the 2 hour show. Ashlee and I wanted to stay in Vegas for an extra day so we could go see another one. If you ever get a chance to check out a Cirque Du Soleil show DO IT I know I will for sure be going back!
So after the show Ash and I decided to explore the strip on our own a little more because the guys sounded like they were having a good time on their own. It was fun but did my feet ever pay for it I think Ashlee and I were both almost in tears by the time we made it to the car. Fashiony flip flops are not the shoe of choice for me any longer if I am going to be walking around 8 hours.
Sunday we headed home after lunch with Shane, Ashlee, Tony and Sandra and my first and only 15 minutes of gambling the whole trip. I found a game that is so my pace War the simplest form of gambling yet a very fun table game. I made a quick $40 bucks and got out of there! Calogero was on a hot streak before we left and had a really good run at War also before we took off.

Isn't that thing HUGE! Calogero couldn't even take a drink without me laughing.

Ashlee and I after Mystere, don't we look so pleased.

Congrats you two on getting engaged! Her ring is so beautiful.

I couldn't resist taking a picture in this Gigantic Rocking Chair my feet barely hung off the edge.

Mothers Day, Happy Birthday Calogero, and Welcome Home From the Phillipines!

Sorry I haven't blogged FOREVER! I unfortunately haven't been up to much exciting that is until last weekend. We had Mothers Day (I LOVE You MOM!) Calogero's 26th Birthday! Calogero's Dad's Birthday! And my brothers Andrew and Matthew came home from their 2 week missions trip to the Philippines. So get ready for a long catch up post, sorry.
Calogero turned 26 on Sunday May 10th (Happy Birthday Babe!) he had an awesome birthday weekend even though he had to share it with Mothers Day this year. Friday we went and saw Wolverine (thanks Shane and Ash), Saturday Shane took Calogero golfing at Wasatch and then we did dinner at Porcupine Grill. I also gave Calogero all of his birthday stuff on Saturday. As you can see from the picture there are some goldfish included in his birthday gifts. Why you ask? Let me tell you. If you have had a conversation with Calogero in the past 3 years you have no doubt heard how badly he wants a dog! Well this year I said lets get one for your birthday! (I'm not really ready but I can't take the dog emails, and photos of possible pets for us any longer so I thought lets do this it will be fun!) Well surprise surprise Calog said no so as a joke I got him a back-up pet to fill in until he's ready. So Stew and Stanley became part of our family on Saturday and then both passed away by Sunday. (Isn't it funny how God made a creature with such a short life span, alive on Saturday floating on the top of the bowl by Sunday night!)

Mother's Day was really nice. Calogero and I went to Church on Sunday morning with my Mom and Dad and heard a great sermon from the pastors wife. Then we went to lunch with my Mom, Dad, and Grandpa. My brothers were both in the Philippines but since my Mother had her favorite child with her it was still a GREAT Mother's Day! Then later that day we did dinner with Vita and Pino to celebrate Mothers Day and Birthdays all at once. It was a great day but I ate way to much.

Andrew and Matthew came home from the Philippines on Tuesday. They went with Collide School of Ministry where both of them are students. This trip was to minister to the people of the Philippines, but I know that each of them were also really touched by the love and graciousness they were greeted with. They had an amazing time but I missed them and am so glad they are home! They sent us update videos while they gone you should check them out: go to http://www.youtube.com/ and then search under CollideSOM and their videos will pop up. Oh yeah so you know how pretty much all of your shoes, jeans, and bags say: MADE IN THE PHILIPPINES? Well when orders don't get shipped out they go to this market and are sold to locals for crazy cheap prices. My brothers got True Religion Jeans for $20, Diesel and Lacosta shoes for $15 and Coach bags $30 and not knock offs the real thing, Jealous! Just thought I would share that. Good luck with finals this week you two Love YA!

Well there is my update but there will be more soon!
